Back to the Future II Hoverboard Up For Grabs

Back to the Future was one of the defining movies of my generation and that is why I was intrigued to see that one of the hoverboards that was used in Back to the Future II is up for auction on the Bay on August 1. The hoverboard is constructed from wood with a rotating “ballbearing-mounted footpad” that rotates a full 360-degrees and faux magnetic plates on the bottom.

The only disappointing thing is that with an expected sale price of $30,000-$50,000, this thing doesn’t fly; that is unless you have a crane, some harnesses and a film crew to achieve a little bit of special effects magic of your own. [eBay via Baller House]
