If you ever wished that your front door opened as easily as your car door, then there is a nice bit of Brazilian design for you. The Max Door is the work of the folks at No Design and it packs in a nice piece of functionality: a retractable guillotine at the bottom of the door to ensure maximum sound insulation. There is also an in-built mailbox and an unusual rubbery finish which serves no purpose that I can think of (other than being different).
It looks very cool, but I would be hesitant to buy one unless it had some sort of backup system in case the battery in the remote ran out. [Business Week via Ubergizmo]
