These days, geeks don’t carry around a whole lot of extra junk in their shirt pockets. They don’t need scientific calculators, pens or pencils as computers and gadgets pretty much take care of everything. What they do carry around is gadgets, some of which need to be gotten to in a hurry and nobody puts stuff in their pockets anymore. Fortunately, there is a solution that is every bit as functional and socially impeding as the pocket protector: the Quick Draw Clip System.
The Quick Draw Clip system allows you place a small button on your gadget, which easily attaches to a clip that you wear on your belt, allowing you to keep that gadget, be it a cellphone, camera or whatever close at hand, where everyone can see it. The clips come in a range of colors and materials, there is even an 18K gold loop for your belt.
You might think that my tone is a tad mocking and perhaps you are right, but these things are surprisingly popular; most likely with snap happy digital camera nerds and the like. They were initially made for cameras and in fairness, if I were a serious photographer I would probably want one or two, but I am not and I don’t.
Prices range from $2.00 to $20.00 for the clips, with buttons costing a mere $1.95. [Clip Systems via Gizmag]
