iRex 1000 Series eBook Readers – Even More Damned Expensive Than the Last SeriesStumble This

iRex has announced some specs for their new 1000 series, which features the 1000, 1000S and 1000SW. Each of the thousands features a 10.2-inch e-ink display, the S supports a stylus and the SW gives you that and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G.

The prices go up significantly from model to model; to the point where you are paying $900 for the SW, which is ridiculous when you note how many cheaper, though not as functional models are out there on the market. Is it too much to ask to see Wi-Fi on the base model at that price? Is there really any need for Bluetooth in an eReader? They do look pretty good, but the price is wrong.

Prices: iRex 1000 – $649; iRex 1000S – $749; iRex 1000SW – $900 [Gadgetizer, Pocket Lint]

In stead of complaining abotu the price, could you please write a review which states what it does good and what it does bad. Price is an issue of course and can be mentioned, but I want to find a good and solid a4-reader and this review doesn’t help.
