Let’s get one thing straight, for a net book you can’t really go past XP or Ubuntu, but every once in a while someone starts to go against the flow and do something a little bit different and when they do, every once in a while a little bit of magic happens. That is not quite the case with this MSI Wind Netbook which was modified by Julie from the Gadgeteer.
First she gave the Wind 1GB of extra RAM and then went through the relatively involved process of replacing the network card with one that had been removed from a Dell. The result - the thing runs, the screen is a little bit blurrier and the webcam doesn’t work. Hopefully she will work those bugs out of the system, but it seems like a whole lot of work for the sake of running OSX Leopard where it wasn’t meant to run. This author’s recommendation, don’t try this at home - or get a Macbook. [Gadgeteer via Slashgear]
