I don’t know about anyone else, but I was a little underwhelmed by the specs of the new Apple notebook lineup. As predicted, there were no big processor changes. The most significant change was the to the chipset, and GPU. Apple has moved to an NVIDIA chipset, which is said to give a significant boost to graphics performance. Another notable change is of course the inclusion of DDR3 RAM.
The appearance is of course different and the entry level Mac Book is slightly cheaper, but there are no mind-blowing changes in there at all. They did manage to pull off the one-piece aluminum case, and to decrease the bulk of the Mac Book Pro, which are worthy improvements, but not changes that would make me consider trading in my last-generation Mac Book Pro.
Apple has upped the ante with their lineup, but only slightly this time. [Image: Crave]
