Aussie Worker Busted on a Bueller Via FacebookStumble This

Sydney man Kyle Doyle no doubt rues the day that he decided to brag about taking an unsubstantiated sick day. It seems the young call center employee was still “trashed” from the previous night of inebriation and decided that it would not be in his best interests to go into work. So he did what many would do in that situation, he called in sick. Then, inexplicably, he changed his Facebook status to, “Kyle Doyle is not going to work, f— it i’m still trashed. SICKIE WOO!”

When an email requested that Kyle provided a medical certificate for his day off, he should have cottoned on, but didn’t. Instead he replied with the following: “My leave was due to medical reasons, so you cannot deny leave based on a line manager’s discretion, with no proof, please process leave as requested.”

The proof was then sent in the form of the screenshot above, to which Kyle was said to have replied, “HAHAHA LMAO epic fail. No worries man.”

The thing with Facebook is that you never know who is reading your page, and unless you take steps to ensure your privacy you would do best to assume that anyone who shouldn’t see something on your page will see it. It is written evidence, let Kyle’s epic failure be a lesson to the rest of all you would be Ferris Buellers. Use your status to back up your deception. If his status had read, “Kyle is recuperating from a questionable ham sandwich,” he most certainly would not have found himself held up to public ridicule both at home and abroad.
