O.K. so it won’t give you a long-ass tongue or make you play any better, but it has to be the coolest looking plastic guitar for Guitar Hero that I have ever seen. This is begging for a bit of God Gave Rock n’ Roll to You action.
Inspirational video after the jump.

Price: $79.95 [Kotaku via Ubergizmo]
UPDATE:

The guys at Legacy Engineering Group are not happy. Recently we did a piece on the Gene Simmons Axe Guitar, which is as fine a plastic guitar controller as you are likely to see. They claim that after 5+ months of design work designing both the Axe and a Wii controller based on Gene Simmons Punisher, they have yet to be paid. It is a pretty big claim, but if it is true, lets hope that Gene puts things right - engineers have to eat too.

This guitar is great - some googling revealed an interesting behind the scenes story:

Looks like this company is the one who actually designed it for Gene Simmons - but the thing is - I2G/Gene stiffed them and never paid for the building of it. These people are the ones behind the Flashback 2 and other cool looking products as well - they build electronic works of art. If Gene played a concert - he’d expect to get paid, well these people built what looks like a great product, real shame that didn’t get paid.

If that’s true it makes my blood boil. I did a writeup on it here: http://www.uberreview.com/2008/11/did-the-designers-of-the-axe-guitar-get-stiffed-by-gene-simmons.htm
