Environmentalist David de Rothschild plans to take to the open seas in a boat/raft made from discarded water bottles. The journey, entitled “The Plastiki Expedition,” is being undertaken to highlight environmental problems around the world, including the Eastern Garbage Patch (a patch of accumulated plastic garbage in the Pacific Ocean that is twice the size of Texas).
