Nineteen-year-old Englishman George Garratt proved that he is not a complete tool and legally changed his name to: ‘Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine The Hulk And The Flash Combined’.
According to the BBC:
“I decided on a superheroes theme and whenever my friends offered up suggestions to me, I added them.” He added: “My family have begun to expect these sorts of things from me, and although my friends thought it was ridiculous most people do call me Captain and it’s been a great conversation starter.” A spokesman from The Legal Deed Poll Service, said: “We get so many outrageous name changes that these days it barely fazes us, but when this one was brought to my attention I knew there was something special about it.”
I am guessing that he will be heading back to for another round of the Deed Poll once he either discovers girls / goes out to try and get a job / finds himself having to fill out unemployment forms with that long-ass name. I am also guessing that Mr. Combined needs to drag himself away from the comic books and get out more. [BBC via Geekologie]

There’s a fine line between “geek” and “freak” and I think this fine young Brit may have crossed it. Still, it made me smile. (Is it just my monitor or is this guy’s hair Incredible Hulk green???)

I am using my work computer which has shocking color rendering performance, but I think you might be right.

Believe it or not, George, or rather, ‘Captain Fantastic…’ is a good friend of mine, here in Glastonbury. I can confirm that his hair is neither green, nor does he read comics/is a geek. I think people are missing the irony here. Funny as though! I’ve gotta get used to calling him Captain now!
