Though it rarely happens, a static discharge has the power to cause immense damage to the internals of a computer, which is the reason for antistatic wristbands, which very few people seem to wear. People don’t wear them because they are decidedly inconvenient are not something that you would wear on the street and must be grounded. The BHO wristband eliminates the need for the ground wire by discharging the static through a resistor and a screw.
The thing about it, is that it doesn’t look that bad. Though people could be forgiven for thinking that it is a GPS tracking bracelet – but as I understand those are usually attached to your ankle and are not easily removed.
Price: $11 but you will have to get it in from Taiwan, so expect some shipping. It looks pretty lightweight, so I can’t imagine it would cost that much to order. [BHO via Coolest Gadgets, Oh Gizmo]
