Western Digital has announced that they are now shipping their Western Digital Caviar 2TB HDD, which is awesome news whether or not you plan to purchase one, as bigger capacities should push the prices of smaller capacity hard disks down to more affordable levels. The 2 TB Green models are said to be quieter and run cooler than previous models.

Price: 2TB models will be selling at $299, prices for the 1.5TB and 1.0TB models have yet to be announced. [Ubergizmo]
