Actually Bob, at the start of the XP Ninja project, I explained that it used XP Pro. If you follow the XP Ninja project from the beginning you can see a lot of XP Pro tricks. Unfortunately XP Home is somewhat crippled with regards to the amount of tweaking etc. that is permissible.

gpedit.msc is not available in WinXP Home. It’s only in WinXP Pro.

Other than completely turning off Windows Updates, is there no other method of disabling the nagging restart every 10 minutes in WinXP Home?

Thanks, this is something that has caught me out many times after leaving a PC to run tasks overnight, only to find it had rebooted the following morning due to an update, even though I have notify selected.
