The Glace Luxury Ice Co. believe that people are going to be persuaded to part with $8 for a spherical cube of hand-carved ice, imported from Canada and kept frozen on dry ice. At the price, you would be forgiven for expecting hand-mined glacier ice, unfortunately it is made from regular old water that has been purified (distilled?) to remove the unpleasant taste of minerals and pollutants that poor people are forced to put up with. Another “benefit” is that while the Glace ice will “crackle” and “spider”, it shouldn’t “break apart like less deserving ice or home-made ice.”

A pack of five will cost you $40, while bulk orders of 240 are a bargain at $1,440. While you might think that at those prices, The Glace Luxury Ice Co. will be filing for bankruptcy any day, when you think about it they have the perfect business. They are selling a product that costs virtually nothing to make. So as long as they find a couple of suckers silly enough to part with that much money for frozen water, they should be able to keep their business afloat (especially if they are carving the stuff themselves).
