The SunCat solar rechargeable batteries are a concept by Knut Karlsen. When they die, you throw the rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries on the windowsill or someplace else that gets a lot of light and let them charge up. At the moment they are not very efficient and take a very long time to charge, but Knut has big plans for these. Hopefully after a redesign and some major engineering, he can get them to charge more efficiently. [Notes from Knut via Inhabit, Oh Gizmo]
