The Super Mario Chess Collector’s Edition represents Nintendo’s first foray into the lucrative licensed chess set field. It includes the regulars from the game series, with no real surprises except that Luigi is the queen and Princesses Peach and Daisy are both bishops.

Other than that, for the good guys Yoshi is a knight and Toad is a rook, while the pawns are coins. For the bad guys Bowser and Bowser Jr. are king and queen, respectively. Magikoopa is the bishop, and Birdo is the knight. The most awesome idea of this set was to use Koopa shells as pawns.
