Veggie Peel Simplifies Clean-up, Complicates PeelingStumble This

veggie
Peeling vegetables can be a royal pain in the butt, which is why the Veggie Peel might seem like a good idea. I mean, it combines a peel catchment container with a peeler, right? Wrong, this is made for people who have never learned to peel a vegetable properly. All that extra bulk seems like it would make a difficult job of what is a pretty simple task.

Instead of shelling out for a veggie peel, try this idea. Get a big-ass mixing bowl and a colander that is just a little bit smaller. When you want to peel your vegetables, stick the colander in the bowl and the bowl in the sink (or wherever you choose to do your peeling).

Peel straight into the colander. If your peel goes flying, chances are it is because your technique is a little sloppy, if you have a good peeler and you use smooth strokes then it won’t. An old, blunt peeler will make a lot more mess than a new, sharp one.
