If you ever dreamed of owning your own steampunk keyboard but lacked the skills or equipment to machine the metal parts, there just might be a solution. Datamancer has kits in a few different metals up for grabs, and they are surprisingly affordable if you go to the trouble of polishing them yourself.

Make no mistake of it, this is not a full Datamancer keyboard kit, you will still need to procure a keyboard to cannibalize and some old typewriter keys, but he is working on getting sets of those pressed to make things a little easier.
Price: The polished brass and brushed aluminum frames are available for $400 and $300, respectively. If you opt for the raw metal kits and polish your own, then you can knock $150 off the price of each of them. It might sound like a lot, but metal lasts forever, and the price is a powerful incentive to actually go through with the construction. [Datamancer]
