Sony Ericsson’s Earphones Get Smart, Motion-activatedStumble This

ericsson
Sony Ericsson are claiming to have made the first motion-activated earphones. A brief run down on their functionality: if you put the earphones in, music playback starts automatically, take one out and it the song you are listening to will go on pause.

The earphones make use of capacitive sensing technology; your ears are turned into an electrical conduit, thus a circuit is created by putting the buds in your ears and broken by taking one out. It is clever, but not life-changing. No word yet on price or availability. [Crave]
