The Gyrowheel makes use of a gyroscope, an internal, battery-powered, spinning wheel, to stabilize bikes and teach kids to ride. As young riders gain confidence, the level of stabilization can be adjusted.
The manufacturer claims that it doesn’t teach the same bad riding habits as traditional training wheels. It is used to replace the standard front wheel on kids’ bikes and a 12-inch version will be available from December; later, Gyrobike hopes to introduce a 16-inch version and they also have an adult version in the works.
