Tesla’s Roadster has set what appears to be some sort of record made the Alice Springs to Coober Pedy leg of the Global Green Challenge in a single charge, the distance between the two towns is a staggering 501 kilometers (313 miles). Impressive, especially considering there were three miles left on the battery when they hit Coober Pedy.

The final stop of the six day event will be the hometown of yours truly. By then the competitors will have traveled 3,000km from the Northern Territory city of Darwin, to Adelaide in South Australia. [Wired]
