Who would have thought that the humble wooden building block was in need of a revamp? Not me, but I must say these blocks from Tegu are a very cool idea. Magnets are discreetly tucked away in the blocks, allowing for a whole lot more creativity in one’s constructions.

There are three sets on the market: the “Starter Set” which gives you 26 blocks in 3 shapes (cubes and long & short planks) will set you back $50; the “Original Set” with 52 blocks in four shapes (the starter set planks plus jumbo planks) costs $85; and the “Limited Edition Mahogany Set” which is just the “Original Set” in mahogany and costs a good deal more at $125.
