Kimmel Calls For National Unfriend Day

Jimmy Kimmel has called for November 17 to be declared National Unfriend Day, a day when all Facebook users (young and old) can go through their Facebook accounts and trim all of the unnecessary friend fat.

Whenever I browse through my Facebook friends list it occurs to me that there are probably a few dozen people that I could stand to lose, probably a few more when I really think about it – but sorting the fat from the meat could be quite a lot of work and is so much tougher than ignoring. I’d rather just stick to my present practice of waiting for someone to piss me off or post something homophobic or racist before I unfriend them.
