Bugatti-inspired Desk Costs As Much As a Small House

The desk that you see above is the work of custom furniture builder Luzzo Bespoke. Their “Bugatti Grand Prix racing car inspired desk” channels the design sensibilities of the Bugatti’s vehicles from the 20s and 30s.

If it looks over-the-top, that’s because it is. The desk was painstakingly constructed out of machined aircraft aluminum – it is the sum total of some 3,000 hours of designing machining and finishing. The honeycomb pattern that you see on the front of the drawers is a throwback to the grills of early Bugatti racers; the gears on the height adjustment system are scaled up versions of Bugatti’s drive gears.

The final touch is a built-in iMac (included at no extra charge) that hides away beneath the desk surface and deployed as needed via a rack and pinion system… given the price tag it is the least they could do.

Price: A little over $240,000 [Oh Gizmo]
