The Most Annoying Alarm Clock Ever? [Ramos Alarm Clock]

We’ve posted some pretty annoying alarm clocks here in the past, but the Ramos Alarm Clock, which was recently funded on Kickstarter, just might be the most annoying one we have ever seen.

The designer, Paul Sammut, explained:

“I wanted to make something that would essentially force me to get out of bed when I wanted to get out of bed the night before and I was thinking about ways of doing it and I thought about how in high school I had the perfect solution to this, which was my mother, and how she would, if it was time for me to wake up, she would force me out of bed.

Sammut went about recreating the mother experience by separating the clock and the alarm disabling mechanism altogether. In order to shut this thing down, the user has to get out of bed and go to whichever room its telephone-style keypad is in and enter the day’s date. The alarm is designed to replicate the annoying “ding-ding” of an angry hotel guest hammering the concierge bell. Unplugging it doesn’t work, as Sammut included a backup battery that can keep the clock running for hours.

Does it work? Sammut, who uses the clock everyday said that he now wakes up before the alarm goes off because he subconsciously fears it.
