The Most Awesome Buzz Saw Blade Launching Crossbow You Will See All Day

The crossbow that you see in the image above and the video below doesn’t fire regular, boring old crossbow bolts. No, it fires 50mm wide, 0.8mm thick steel buzz saw blades.

The crossbow, which also features a green 30mW DPSS laser for aiming, starts by spinning the mini buzz saw blades using a small electric motor – then it fires the tiny spinning projectiles wherever the laser is pointed.

It looks awesome, but after seeing the video I couldn’t help but think that it was a tad under-powered. Shooting watermelons and slicing sausages might be a lot of fun, but normal crossbow bolts would definitely do a lot more damage.

From the maker:

“It shoots 50mm steel buzz saw blades, 0.8mm thick, made by PROXXON Germany.
A electric motor makes it rotate, before its accelerated on its lil slide, towards the open end of the crossbow.
Runs on 4 Li Ion cells 18650…green 30mW DPSS laser for aiming.”

The laser sight is cool but not very accurate.  The saw blade hit about six inches below the mark each time.
I think it’s best use might be to defend against a marauding pack of hemophiliacs.
