Aerial Photography on the Cheap With a Balloon-mounted GoPro


The video below shows a clever little DIY aerial photography rig using a bunch of balloons, quite a lot of 20 lb fishing line, some balsa wood and a GoPro camera. The footage was part of a video project called To Catch a Bike Thief – which was aimed at exposing bicycle theft in Vancouver. The idea was to use the rig for aerial surveillance, we’re guessing that it probably went too high for that, but some of the footage that resulted from the experiment is incredible.
