When leeches are full from feeding off the blood of their prey, they simply let go so they can digest, and perhaps smoke a leech-sized cigarette.  The truth is I’m not sure what happens during their actual digestion, but at least it’s good to know that those filthy creatures aren’t total gluttons.  A man named Connor Klein was inspired by leech feedings and thought that maybe the same could be true of a phone charger.  Are you confused yet?  Let me simplify:  The Outlet Regulator saves you power by utilizing a timer circuit and electromechanics to eject itself from your device of choice once it is fully charged, avoiding over-consumption of power, house fires, and the wasting of your hard-earned dinero.  According to the designer’s website:

“Once the plug falls out, all energy consumption stops and only resumes once the plug is inserted again.”

Seems like a pretty good idea to me, though I’m not sure exactly how much energy my iPhone charging on the bedside table while I sleep actually uses once it’s fully charged.  I also wonder if the ejection is loud enough to scare the L. Ron Hubbard out of me while I’m trying to get my beauty sleep.  Who knows, maybe Mr. Coach Klein wants to send me one to review?   Hmmm…
