The Sea Lion is the Amphibious Vehicle You Always Wanted

Amphibious vehicles always look like a lot of fun, but most of the time they look like some sort of weird boat-car hybrid monstrosity that you wouldn’t really want to drive on the road. The Sea Lion is different – in a good way.

It looks like something that might have graced a Le Mans circuit 30 or 40 years ago… and it’s fast – really, really fast. The Sea Lion’s 13B Rotary Engine (Mazda) pushes the stainless steel and aluminum body up to 180mph on land. On water it manages a respectable 60mph. The one of a kind vehicle was built for an attempt at the amphibious vehicle speed record.
