Nestlé Australia Promotes Kit-Kat with a Creepy Bear

Nestlé Australia and New Zealand made a hilarious foray into Instagram this week, when they decided to use a guy in a brown bear suit playing a drum set with a pair of Kit-Kat chocolate bars.

Drum roll please … Kit Kat is on Instagram

Unfortunately for Nestlé, the guy in a bear suit bore an uncanny resemblance to Pedobear.

The company subsequently removed the photo and posted this explanation:

We produced this photo – of a real guy in a bear suit – to launch Instagram through our Facebook community. The picture is not Pedobear. We had never heard of Pedobear. “But when the possibility of its similarity to the so-called ‘Pedobear’ was raised with us, we immediately removed it.

Obviously Nestlé did not intend for the guy in the bear suit to look like Pedobear, but that is beside the point. He did look like Pedobear and him came bearing candy; the only thing missing is a big, black, windowless van. [Source]
