Turbocharged Grill Saves Time and Fuel [VitalGrill]

The VitalGrill is the most interesting portable grill we have seen in a long, long time. It uses a battery-powered fan to speed up the cooking process. If all goes according to plan then you should be able to boil a liter of water within three minutes and fifteen seconds.

It is designed to be portable, it weighs in at a mere 8 pounds and stretches 13 inches in diameter – not big enough for a big backyard cooking session, but perfect for two people or a small family.

Aside from the advantage of being able to get the fire going faster, the fan helps the grill get hotter – the VitaGrill achieves 20,000 BTU of raw cooking power, which sounds very impressive and probably is. The fan also allows you to use a range of fuels including pieces of wood, paper, cardboard, twigs, pine cones, straw, natural fibers, charcoal and combustible waste. Two AA batteries should give you around 40 hours of cooking time.
