Expensive Tent is Expensive [Sierra Designs Mojo UFO]

You have to hand it to Sierra Designs, the global economy is tanking and they put out a tiny tent that costs $1,800. The Sierra Designs Mojo UFO weighs in at 1 lb. 11 oz thanks to extensive use of ultralight materials: the poles are carbon fiber and the fabric is something called cuben fiber. It isn’t the lightest tent ever, but it is reasonably close and the integrated rain fly and poles ought to make setup a fairly painless procedure. It is “50 inches (127 cm) wide at the head, tapered to 41 inches (104 cm) at the feet,” so you could squeeze two people in there but unless you are really, really close it is going to be a little awkward.

Seriously though, that much money for a tent – personally, I would rather save my money and get something a little bigger and heavier – but if you do a lot of camping in places that are inaccessible by car then it could be worth it.

Price: $1800 [Source]
