Given the spate of recent gaming-related deaths, you would think that people would have realized that playing endless video games can have serious consequences – sadly, it would seem that they have not.

A 15-year-old Ohio boy was hospitalized after a Modern Warfare 3 session that lasted for “at least” four days. Obviously, there were some breaks in there – the boy in question got up to pick up snacks and take a shower – other than that it was all MW3. At the end of it, he allegedly became pale and his lips turned blue. His mother, who probably isn’t under consideration for a mother of the year nomination, describes what happened next:

I was very scared. I thought he was going to die. He just fell over three times.

I don’t know what I find scarier: the fact that she thought it was okay to let her son sit on his ass and play video games for four days straight, or the fact that she passed on her genes. Hopefully everyone involved learned something from all of this.
