Time Lapse and Motion Control Photography Just Got Easier [Astro]

Astro is one of the more interesting Kickstarter projects I have ever seen, I won’t say it is the most interesting but it is certainly up there. The industrial engineer responsible, one Oscar Ramírez describes his creation as “the most intuitive, compact and simple intervalometer + motion control for time lapse photography.” That is a big claim, but as you can see from the video, he may not be exaggerating.

The unit is compatible with just about any camera with a remote input, runs off two AA batteries and can spin up to 5 Kg of camera equipment at up to 30 degrees per second.

Price: $180 gets you an Astro. The project is already fully funded and should be shipping in December if everything remains on schedule.
