How to Dismantle a Nexus 7, Then Put it Back Together Again [Video]

If you have ever contemplated getting up close and personal with the business side of your Nexus 7 and voiding its warranty, then you really owe it to yourself to check out this long but highly instructive video from the folks at DirectFix.

We have seen teardowns of the Nexus 7 before, most notably on iFixit, but so much more information comes out in a well-shot video. The interior of the device is very cleanly laid out, but as the video shows, where things can go very, very wrong. The big piece of copper tape under the battery, for example, holds down a very delicate-looking ribbon – which would almost certainly be torn if someone were to rip the tape off too forcefully. All things considered, it does not look too much more complicated than taking apart a laptop.
