Valve Employees Unbox Their Very Own Motion Tracking Portal Turret

The folks at Valve just accepted delivery of a custom-built motion tracking Portal turret from Weta Workshop. I’m guessing the shipping cost them a pretty penny as Weta, judging from the markings on the crate, looks to be located all the way down in New Zealand. Anyway, the turret looks amazing and makes up for not actually shooting with some great sound effects.

Seriously though, this could possibly be the only interesting unboxing video that I have ever seen – that the shipping crate is itself a work of art obviously helps – but I love the way that whoever shot it kept the length of the video down to the absolute minimum required to tell the story. That and the soundtrack almost make my jealousy easier to swallow.
