Homemade Lightsaber Burns Through Just About Everything

The lightsaber replica that you see before you is the work of laser and YouTube enthusiast StyroPyro, thanks to a 3W laser that he/she removed from a DLP projector and coupled to a pair of Li-ion batteries.

This obviously falls into the don’t try this at home category unless you meet either of the following criteria:

  • You really know what you are doing and protective eyewear
  • You find vision overrated and want to experience the rest of your life without it.

With that little disclaimer aside, I’ve got to say that I really like what StyroPyro did here, and kudos for pulling off the second most spectacular thing that I have ever seen anyone do with a ping-pong ball.
