Casting Ant Colonies in Aluminum is Awesome For Everyone Except the Ants

Anthill Art sells aluminum casts of ant colonies – and they look incredible. The casting method also happens to instantly eradicate whatever ants happen to be residing in the ant colony at the time of the casting.

How does it work? They take a big bucket of molten aluminum and pour it into the opening of the anthill until it is full. After that, they carefully dig up the cast, wash it, and attach it to a stand. The end result speaks for itself.

Price: Anthill Art has a fire ant colony sculpture up for sale on eBay, bids are currently around the $1500 mark with one day to go. [via Digg]
