Polar Vortices Make For Colorful Ice Fortresses

The colorful ice fortress that you see above you (and in the gallery below) is the work of Redditor Unspeakablefilth. The Northern Ontario resident made the most of this year’s extra-frigid weather by freezing blocks of colored ice and turning them into an ice fortress.

He built the blocks in 12-hour shifts and ended up with enough of them to surround a decent chunk of his garden – with walls of colorful ice. Then, just as awesomely, he opened up his project to his neighbors.
