One of the most important parts of any successful website is advertising, love it or hate it, advertising pays the bills and allows us to expand to become a better site. One of the aspects that I want to focus on is attracting better targeted advertisers so that we can decrease the amount of advertising that we use. To make that possible we need our readers to please fill out this survey and you are automatically entered for a chance to win $100.

To make the offer even more attractive, I will give a $50 cash prize via PayPal to one lucky reader, if you fill out the survey and leave a comment on this post on how we can improve the UberReview. I really value your input and I would love to hear what we can do better. Now is your chance to make us a better site. The prize will be given to the comment that gives the best feedback as selected by myself and Chris (aka. CS Magor)

Here are some things that you can give us feedback on:
Would you like more posts or less?
Would you like more reviews?
would you like to see more videos?
would you like us to build a community with profiles?
What area would you like to see more of? More gadgets, design, all things geeky and cool or all the above?
Is there anything else you would like to see us focus on or change?

We will leave the comments open for 2 weeks. Good luck and thanks for your time.

On July 27th we started the process of upgrading our server infrastructure which resulted in hiccups along the way. Thanks to our great readers, Johannes K, Rickey and Asch who informed me of a problem with the site that I thought was already corrected. It appears that some of our readers were seeing the same content when visiting our home page. For the people reading the site via our RSS feed, everything seemed to be working fine but for readers visiting the homepage, they were always presented with the same stories from July 27th depending on the browser and operating system. I would like to inform everyone that problem has been fixed and if anyone comes across any new issues, please feel free to contact us or leave a comment below.

If you were visiting the site the over the weekend you might have noticed that things were not running so smooth here at the factory. I didn’t get a chance to write this yesterday but I would like to thank the individuals who helped us get back up and running. First off I would like to thank Paul Jara, from System Apex for helping with the server side issues. Secondly, I would like to thank Terry Smith and David Peralty for figuring out a WordPress problem that boggled the mind, with assists from Joe Taiabjee and Jeremy Wright.

If there is ever a time and place where you want to be when rare WordPress issues arise, a WordPress conference is a good choice.

As the UberReview turns 3 on Dec 16th (which is equivalent to 9 dog years in the blogoshpere), we are having our first ever give away. All you have to do is visit our fine collection of Strange Stuff You Can Buy From Amazon That You Probably Didn”t Know About and write a short entertaining fake review of one of the products featured. You could win a $100 Amazon gift certificate for your effort. We already have some fine entries but I’m sure we still have some future contenders amongst our fine readers. Contest details are at the bottom of page. Good luck.
