If you have to wear something for a long time then you might as well make it interesting. Casttoos are decorative prints that can be applied to casts. The coolest option by far though has to be the x-ray film copying service. You send them a copy of your x-ray film and they turn it into a casttoo.

Publisher Cuts Book Lengths Down to More Easily Digestable Sizes For Kindle

If reading takes too long it could just be because the word count is too high. Fortunately a publishing company called FT Press has a plan. They are stripping down professional and self-help books into shortened versions that they call “elements” and “shorts”.

“Elements” are 1,000-2,000 words in length and cost $2, while “Shorts” are 5,000 words long and cost $3 – sad, but you probably don’t need to read them anyway.

We may well bemoan the death of reading and/or literature, but at the end of the day I can tell you this from personal experience – 20 cups of coffee, a $5 Cliff’s notes and a few randomly selected passages can squeeze out a 4,000 word term paper on Joyce’s Ulysses, so providing the gist of a self-help book in a couple of thousand words shouldn’t be a problem.

Football Salami: a Superbowl-appropriate Snack

I can’t think of anything more appropriate for Superbowl party consumption than a football salami. They look extremely masculine and the “fresh beef and pork are slowly smoked over hickory wood to make this treat” certainly does sound delicious.

Unfortunately if you live outside of the States, or in Alaska or Hawaii, you are out of luck.

Golfers Cup Lets You Drink From Where You Putt

Apparently circular cups are no good for putting practice, as they just roll around when the ball hits them. The golfer’s cup is a simple white ceramic mug with a flat side that will keep it in place to receive your putts. Putting my cup on the floor just sounds nasty to me, but that is quite possibly the product of a ten-year stint in Japan that is still ongoing, and a brief stint in the microwave should clean up any nasties that are picked up from putting practice anyway.

It would make a good present for anyone who really likes their golf.

Beer Soap May Smell Better Than It Sounds

Why buy soap made from beer. By all accounts this stuff smells pretty light and is easy on the skin, then there is the sheer novelty value of having soap made from beer; which I reek of most Friday nights.

It comes in Corona, Guinness, Sam Adams, Stella Artois, and Red Stripe scents.
