Video: Fly Powered Airplanes

Some people have too much time on their hands, evidenced perhaps by this guy, who enjoys turning flies into airplanes. It might seem cruel but they come out of it without too much harm. [Neatorama]

In-Flight Cell Phone Calls hit Europe

Cell Phone Test
In-flight cellular phone calls have come to Europe to the delight of some but the chagrin of many others. There are few things that I find more annoying than some jackass yammering away about business in an already noisy and stressful environment.

The details that are available for the moment are that up to six passengers are able to call at once, with that number to be expanded to twelve and that the cost will depend on the airline. Not The First Flying Boat, But Almost Certainly The Coolest

flying-boat.jpg

We’ve all seen airplanes that can land on water, but the Brio Flying Boat is a water vehicle first and a flying menace second. Made from a what looks to be a motorized raft, the Brio takes off like a airplane on the water and flies like a hand glider.

The boat won’t come cheap, but it’s sure to be a heck of a ride. Check out the video after the jump.
Price: $14,931 (R$29,149 Brazil Reais)  (more…)

Airplane Propeller Bar Stool

Airplane Propeller Bar Stools

If you love vintage airplanes and excessive drinking, you’ll love these Airplane Propeller Bar Stools. Each leg is made up of a hand-carved miniature replica WWI era aircraft propeller accented with brass edges and hubs.

I can just picture a row of these in a bar next to the airport where all of the pilots go before heading off to work.

Price: $289
