There are plenty of clocks that are simply designed to be annoying because it takes ridiculous measures to drag some people out of bed in the morning. Suffice it to say that I think that the fire bell alarm clock is up there with the best of them.

There have been various attempts at Darth Vader clocks in the past, but most of them have been the wrong kind of kitsch. The Sakar Darth Vader Clock Radio, however, takes things in another direction. The time is displayed in the eyes, the radio tuner display is on his forehead and volume is adjusted by one of two almost inconspicuous knobs on either side of his breathing apparatus, the other tunes the radio. It is gaudy to be sure, but I think that most Star Wars freaks will agree that it is gaudy in a good way; and it has a jack for an MP3 player.
This is allegedly going to be sold by Sakar, however, it is conspicuous by its absence on their website. Keep your eyes peeled and let us know if the situation changes.

As this will be our final post for 2008, I would like to say thanks to all the great readers of this site. Novelty clocks may look amusing, they might even look fun, but it is a virtual certainty that the novelty factor will have worn off within a week or two and you will be left asking yourself why it was that you purchased such junk. I have no reason to believe that things would be any different if you bought the Gun o’clock. It is an alarm clock, to stop it you shoot a laser at it. It is going to get stale really fast.

If you ask me, alarm clocks that wake you with the cooking of bacon are the fast track to experiencing the wonders of modern medicine and the joys of open-heart surgery before you are thirty. That little disclaimer aside, lets take a look at the Wake N’ Meat, because it is most certainly a unique alarm clock that can save yourself the trouble of preparing yourself a tasty breakfast treat each morning.
