Americans Love Lists

lists-video.jpg

Americans love lists and we love making them (even more to come next year). The video below explains why.

If William Shakespeare used PowerPoint, he could have saved a lotta time.

Working Airwolf Helmet on the Bay

Airwolf Helmet for Sale on eBay

Many of our readers probably do not remember Airwolf.  Jan Michael Vincent flew rings around the Hoff in Knight Rider.  Exhibit A features Jan Michael in front of the most teched out chopper to have graced the little screen.  Unfortunately, the bottle seemed to get the better of him and he ended up looking as he does in Exhibit B.  I digress, Airwolf was without a doubt the greatest TV series of its time and it was up against some very stiff competition.  Now, the finest looking Airwolf helmet replica that I have ever laid eyes on; the only one in fact, is up for grabs.  As if that was not enough, it works.  There are buttons and there is more than enough LED action going on to satisfy even the most ardent of fans.  There are 26 of them to be shipped to the U.S.  Why do you Americans get all the fun?

By the way, if you loved Airwolf when you were a kid, I seriously do not recommend trampling on the memory by watching it now.  It tends to be a major disappointment for most people that do.  Better to leave it as a happy memory of childhood and move on.

Constructed from fiberglass, the helmet features:

  • Fully-fitted Lycra covered Collar
  • Individual Serial Number
  • Fully-functioning Speed Visor
  • Fully-functioning LED targeting bar
  • Fully-functioning Electronic Switches x 3
  • All powered by specially designed, battery-powered electronic Power-Pack with Belt Clip
  • Padded Interior

Price: Starting bid $700, Buy it Now for $900

Virtual Memory: Second Life Pays Homage To 9/11 Victims

 wtc-3d1.jpg

Tomorrow marks a day in America’s history that will be remembered as the single worst tragedy since its existence. September 11, 2001 marked the day where Americans realized that we are not invulnerable to attacks on our mainland. It was a day of terror and loss, but mostly a day of confusion and newly discovered fear. In remembrance of the many victims of that day, Second Life has created a virtual memorial, featuring a wall of the names of those who perished that day, similar to the design of the Vietnam War Memoral in Washington, D.C.

To symbolize the destruction that occurred on that fateful day, thunder and clouds roar over the wall, with raindrops trickling down the surface of the names like tears. Another similar wall shows small pictures of those who fell. It’s been six years since that historical day, but the memories are as fresh in our minds as ever. (more…)
