Football Stadium Desktop Floodlights Light Up Your Desk, Make Al Gore Cry

The Floodlamp Desk Lamp is a cool piece of lighting equipment whether you love sports or not, but more so if you do. It stands 51 cm high and features a shiny chrome finish and the six lamps can be adjusted to point up or down. Other than that, it is just a lamp. The thing that got me though is the energy that this thing must burn through. It takes six E14 25W Bulbs, which seems more than a little wasteful for a desklamp. One can’t help but think that it should have been built taller, after all, that level of lighting would seem a little more appropriate in a floor lamp.

Brain Lamp From Lervik Design is Very, Very Cool

I’ve got to say that this is about one of the coolest table lamps I have ever seen. The brain in question is an accurate 3D modeling of the artist’s brain, which was obtained through magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm and then “printed” using a 3D printer. The result, as you can see for yourself, is nothing short of spectacular.

Cosmovoide Luxury Bed, I Don’t Get it Either

The Cosmovoïde Bed is the bed to end all beds, but it is expensive, really expensive. For as much money as you would spend on a luxury car, you get some pretty cool features. It is suspended on individual springs, similarly to a hammock and it packs in some serious technology (which you can see after the jump). (more…)

Swarovski Standing Chandelier, Takes up Space, Looks Silly

Swarovski Chandelier

I don’t care for bling, not on my cellphone, not on my iPod, not on my PC and not on my lights. I am a simple man with simple needs. Food, shelter and the latest gadgets, just keep stupid looking crystals off them. The floor standing chandelier from Studio Dror is not my cup of tea. I have no idea what it costs, but considering it contains no fewer than 6,400 Swarovski crystals, I can tell you this much. It ain’t going to be cheap.

What on earth are they doing calling it a chandelier anyway, lights that stand on the floor are called lamps, but maybe that is just where I come from. The design of this lamp is interesting, it could be awesome without the kitsch looking Swarovski crystals. Check out the rest of the Studio Dror site though, because there is some really cool stuff there.

The Alter Ego Lamp

Alter Ego Lamp

Normal Lamps = boring
Alter Ego Lamps = uber coolness

Why satisfy yourself with normal lamps when you can be having fun with the Alter Egos?

One is suppose to resemble the “ugly” with its green color and no eyes, while the other is commonly known as the devil - red color with cute horns and tail.

Besides having the light on/off function, the two rounded lamps can also decorate your room, at least according to my peculiar taste I think they would look cool, don’t you?

Each light is made of plastic and comes with a roll switch and 7.5 watt bulb.

Price: $13 and up
