There has been no end to the geeky cuff links phenomenon, but these Guitar Hero cuff links are a little bit special. They are well made and they don’t look ridiculously geeky, you could probably pull off wearing them into a corporate meeting, PTA dinner, or other function that requires a modicum of sensibility.

The Brake Cufflinks are designed to look like disc brakes from a racing car and they do a pretty good job of it in rose gold and stainless steel. Unfortunately you are probably going to have to be an F1 driver to afford them, but that doesn’t stop me from hoping that we see a cheaper knockoff on Etsy in the not too distant future.

While these 1-megabit cufflinks are not officially for sale, you might be able to persuade maker Jmarler to make you some if you offer the right incentive. And it is always possible that they will make it over to CAKE. Usually, geeky cufflinks are a tacky affair, but I have to say that I like the aesthetics of these. I probably won’t buy myself a pair of circuit board cuff links, but I know plenty of people who would. It is not that I have anything against them. On the contrary, I like them quite a bit. The trouble is that I rarely where shirts that support them. That and I find cuff links quite uncomfortable in the work that I do.
If I had my way I would never get out of my pajamas, let alone wear a French cuffed shirt, but that is just me. I would seriously love to expand my cuff link collection and these would be up there on the list, but not at the top; maybe somewhere around fifth or sixth place.
