The Remote Control Buddy is a cool little household gadget for anyone that is serious about their TV watching. It has space for four remote controls and a beverage of your choice, but that isn’t the cool part. The kicker for the Remote Control Buddy is the color coded push button remote control finder; a very nice touch.
I run a mixed bag of electronics in my household and that at times can lead to remote control confusion. I would probably be more inclined to spend my hard-earned dollars on a universal remote. If, however, I were a TV viewing bachelor with limited regard to decor, I just might be persuaded to purchase one of these.

The SATA USB docking bay is actually an awesome concept. It is, as the name implies, a dock for SATA drives that allows you to access them through USB. Its great if you have an old motherboard that does not support SATA, but want an easy way to store lots of data without opening up your case and giving yourself a hernia removing IDE cables. It is great too if you need extra storage space but don’t want to blow a wad of dollars on an external HDD. It is a pretty sweet looking dock, the trouble is hard disk drives look pretty damned ugly, and there is no way around the fact that having a hard disk drive sitting in a dock on your desk is going to look just a little bit silly.
Not everyone needs a SATA USB dock, but if you like external HDDs, then this could be just the thing. I do have to wonder how well non-tech types are going to be able to deal with these. There are quite a few that are scared off by the site of exposed electronics. It may appeal to IT types that do a lot of system migration. Yes, there are cables that do the same thing, but it is nice to have something that is portable and that you can just slot an HDD into. This thing can save valuable seconds.
At 1.5kg of weight (it is weighted so that it can remain stable with a HDD in place) shipping on these babies is not cheap, but the device itself is very reasonably priced at $46.79.

It is nice to see a manufacturer supporting something other than i-Hysteria. The iPhone looks good, but variety is the spice of life. The Nokia 5310 is a music playing phone due out in the United States in the fourth quarter of this year. JBL are gearing up for it and created a docking station specifically for it. It doubles as a phone charger and will give you six hours of listening pleasure from four AA batteries. A computer controlled equalizer will let you change your sound levels. If you do not plan on getting a Nokia 5310, the JBL On Call 5310 will work with almost any device with a 3.5mm mini-jack.

If you were to make your Mom an iPod dock in art class when you were a kid – you would probably end up with something like this.
The guys at miConnection have made some of the most unique, and dare I say some of the ugliest iPod docks on the market. Pieces range from the “Funky Frog” pictured above all the way to the Makin’ Bacon Pig and the “Spinnin” dock pictured after the jump.

There are a lot of iPod docking stations out there, but those devices actually “do something” – and I can’t tell you how boring that is. Gimme a iPod station that doesn’t do a damn thing anyday.
Actually, the Load Thing is more of a decorative basket that stylishly cradles your iPod, cellphone, DS, etc while it is being charged.
It looks as though the Load Thing would do a decent job of getting devices and their cords out of the way, and it does have a pretty cool look. You can even customize it with one of three color inserts.
