It never dawned on me until today that there are not nearly enough Nightmare on Elm Street related drinking accessories. This set of Freddy Krueger shot glasses comes with Freddy’s smiling face on one and some blood on the other.

On the surface the Kilmatec Base 1 AirWater might look like a plain Jane water cooler but the reality could not be further from the truth; by combining the functions of a dehumidifier and water purifier, Kilmatec has created a water cooler that never needs refilling and that can produce a substantial amount of water on a daily basis even in the harshest conditions.
In case you are wondering, 20 liters, or five gallons, per day is pretty standard fare for most dehumidifiers; so the amount of water that the Base 1 is able to churn out is not really spectacular. The water that is extracted by most dehumidifiers is not, however, drinking quality. The Base 1 makes use of a carbon filter and ultraviolet light chamber to ensure that the water is free of particles and bacteria.

iXs Research of Japan has developed a talking teddy bear. It is not just any teddy bear either. It sits in your car and gives you directions as a GPS navigation system and sniffs your breath for booze using an embedded sensor. If it detects the telltale whiff of alcohol, it will ask you, “You haven’t been drinking, have you?” On top of that it will also detect reckless driving. [Pink Tenticle via Crave]
