Duck Hunt Trucker Hat, Not What I Always Wanted, But It’ll Do

Duck Hunt Trucker Hat

As a rule I don’t, under any circumstances, wear trucker hats. There is something about the look that always has and always will rub me the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong, they are fine on other people, just not on my noggin. If, on the other hand, a trucker hat were to come along with a Duck Hunt logo, well let’s just say that rules are made to be broken. Have you ever seen a finer piece of head wear?

Prepare to Duck, Japanese Scientists to Launch Origami Spacecraft at Earth

Origami Spacecraft

Making use of specially treated paper that can withstand temperatures of up to 250C, Japanese scientists are building origami space craft that they hope will be able to survive reentry into the earth’s atmosphere. The theory that the Japanese scientists are testing is that paper aircraft, being lighter than space shuttles, will generate less heat due to friction; tell me that there is a theory more worth of testing in space at a cost of billions of dollars than that. The technology may be used for unmanned spacecraft in the future, assuming that the theory checks out.

If they reach the earth at all, they are going to take months to get here and they have a better than average chance of landing where no one will ever find them. On the off chance that one does hit a populated area, they are thinking of including a note with a contact number.

At $1344, That Better be a Tasty Burger

 Smile Burger

Not really tech related, rather this is sustenance related.  If you don’t love hamburgers or foie gras then you probably do not need to be buying this burger.  After all it will make you instant enemies with any hardcore PETAesque vegetarians, they hate foie gras because of the way that ducks and geese are force fed in order to produce the oversized fatty livers that make foie gras such a delicacy.  The Smile Burger was available from Smile Burger Kiyomizu Temple Stores from November 11.  Its not the meat that they use, or even the product that makes this burger so amazing.  It is the price, $1,344.  Foie gras is expensive, but its not that expensive.  They better be throwing in a bottle of Dom to wash that thing down.

Amphibious DUKW for Sale, At a Price

DUKW

A 1945 amphibious DUKW, also known as DUCK is going under the hammer at eBay.  The DUKW is an amphibious version of a 2 1/2 ton General Motors truck.  Somehow, the owner managed to get hold of a sixty-year-old amphibious vehicle that had only been used for 300 miles.  It is an ex-USMC model of a type that was used to deliver supplies to ships at sea.  Most of the parts are original and there is some minor surface rust, but it is in working order, which is quite a feat for a vehicle of its age.

Unfortunately, for the vast majority of us who are under-funded, bidding is already at $50,000.  With a few more days to go on the auction, it is going to get even higher, oh well.
