Why I’m Buying an X-Box 360

Indulge me in a little rant here folks, because I have just dug deep into the old bank account to shell out a chunk of change for something that I have not bought in a long, long, while - a console. I haven’t actually bought it yet, not because I am hesitant, simply because every X-Box 360 in Japan has been sold out for about a month. (more…)

Race Chairs, Exotic Car Seats Make Awesome Gaming Chairs

While many of us will never be able to afford, or even afford to run a real exotic car, some of us are likely to be able to afford a chair that is built from one of the seats of the aforementioned cars. Race chairs are built from the seats of the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Porsche lineups. They carry a rather hefty price tag, but for an office chair that really stands out from the crowd, it just might be worth it.

Price: Race Chairs start from $2,000 [Race Chairs via Uncrate, Gizmodo]

Gyroxus Gaming Chair Brings Motion to Your Gaming

One of my favorite games when I was growing up was Afterburner. Why? Because it was a lot of fun moving with the game; turn left and you move left, awesome. Which is why the Gyroxus has me curious, I must say that I am intrigued at the idea of being able to recreate the whole experience in the comfort of my living room. It is compatible with all major consoles, including: PC, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PS3 and PS2 consoles.

Price: $479 [Gyroxus via Ubergizmo, Bornrich]

A Plush Ride, Pyramat’s PC Gaming Chair

Pyramat gaming chair

I like a good chair PC chair, my current one is giving me headaches as it is a little bit too wide for my desk. This chair from Pyramat seems to have the form factor down to a size that will comfortably fit most desk environments and they have brought 2.1-channel sound to the party as well. There are two full range speakers placed either side of the headrest and there is a powered subwoofer hiding somewhere in the construction.

Aside from things like the MP3 dock, the PC Gaming Chair 2.1 is a plush looking seat. It looks sturdy enough to take a bit of abuse and the wireless connection for the speakers is a nice touch. I am guessing, however, that there must be at least one wire going in from somewhere to power this beast.

Price: $250

Geeky Headgear from New Era

New Era Gaming Hats

New Era has some rather pricey game inspired caps on the market. The caps, which feature boldly colored Pacman and Space Invaders motifs might not give you street cred, but they ooze geek cred. All but the most hardcore geeks will probably avoid these, but if any of you out there are looking for a game hat that you can wear in the privacy of your own home, this is it.

The price, unfortunately is $55 per hat, which is what most people would pay for semi-stylish head wear and as much as a new game.
